The challenge of helping African farmers transition from a system of subsistence farming to a more modern system with wider access to markets is both challenging and rewarding, according to Esther Muiruri, the General manager of agri-business at Equity Bank, Kenya. “These people have both the capability and the willingness to become self-sufficient, they just need the right support”, she notes in this interview with Afronline.org, conducted in the context of WE – Women for Expo.
