This page describes how the site is managed as regards the processing of the personal data of users who consult it.
Personal data will be treated in accordance with Article 13 of legislative decree 196/2003 – "Code relating to the protection of personal data" to those who interact with the web services provided by Fondazione Milano EXPO 2015 (hereinafter referred to as “Foundation”), at the following website address, which corresponds to the home page of the official site of the Foundation:

The privacy policy is provided only with regards to the Foundation’s website and is not related to other web sites that may be subsequently accessed by the user via links.

The information note is also based on Recommendation 2/2001, that European authorities for the protection of personal data, in a group established by Article 29 of Directive 95/46/CE, adopted on 17 May 2001 to identify certain minimum requirements for collecting personal data on-line, and in particular on when, how and which information must be provided to the individual user at the time of initial contact between Internet user and website.


Data related to identified or identifiable individuals may be processed following the users’ interaction with this website.

The data controller is Fondazione Milano per EXPO 2015, with its head office in Milan (Italia), Via Cino del Duca 8, 20121.


The company in charge of processing data connected to web services of this site is Adacto, via L. Giuntini 40, Empoli, with its head office in Via G Meda 45, Milan (Italy), which acts as the Foundation’s web administrator. In addition, data may be processed by Italy S.r.l., Piazzale Biancamano 8, 20121 Milano.
No data from the web service is communicated or divulged.


Navigation data

The computer systems and software procedures involved in running this site acquire, as part of their normal processing operations, certain personal data that is subsequently implicitly transmitted during the course of internet communication protocols.

This information by its very nature may, by being associated or processed with data held by third parties, allow the identification of the users/visitors.

This category of data includes IP addresses, the names of dominions of the computers used by the users/visitors, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation addresses of resources requested, time of request, method used to submit the request to the server, size of file returned in the response, numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful submission, error, etc), and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and computer environment.

This data is used exclusively for information of a statistical nature (and consequently anonymous) and to verify the correct operation of the site and are immediately erased after processing. Data on web contacts are not stored for more than seven days, save in the case of investigations aimed at discovering criminal acts designed to damage the site.

Data provided spontaneously by the user

The optional, explicit and voluntary posting of e-mail messages to the addresses indicated on this site entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, required in order to answer the requests, together with any other personal data included in the message.

Specific concise information documents will be indicated or displayed in the pages of the site prepared for special services on request.


No personal data are purposely collected by the site.

No cookies are used for the transmission of information of a personal nature, nor are persistent c.d. cookies of any sort used, otherwise known as user tracing.

The use of session c.d. cookies (that are not memorized in a lasting fashion by the user's computer and vanish once the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identification codes (comprised of random numbers created by the server) essential for the safe and efficient exploration of the site.

The session c.d. cookies used on this site avoid having to resort to using other information technology techniques that could potentially prejudice the confidentiality of the users’ navigation and do not permit the acquisition of the users’ personal identification data.


Personal data are processed using automated tools for the time that is strictly necessary in order to fulfill the purposes for which they have been collected.

Specific and suitable safety measures are complied with in order to avoid loss of the data, illicit or incorrect use and unauthorized access.


Users may at any moment obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of personal data, verify the content, origin and exactness of the personal data, or request integration, updates, or amendments (article 7 of Italian legislative decree no. 196/2003).

Pursuant to the same article, users are entitled to obtain cancellation, transformation into an anonymous form or to block data processed in breach of the law, and to object, entirely or in part, for legitimate reasons, to the processing of personal data.
